Diana Ross ft. Tame Impala – lançam a primeira musica da trilha sonora do novo filme “Minions: The rise of GRU”

Diana Ross e Tame Impala gravam parceria com single “Turn Up The Sunshine”.

Uma nova canção em colaboração com a grande diva, e estrela da Motown, Diana Ross se juntou à Kevin Parker,  mentor do projeto Tame Impala, sendo o primeiro corte retirado da trilha sonora de Minions 2: The Rise Of Gru,  criada pelo produtor do ano vencedor do Grammy, Jack Antonoff.

Já havia rumores no ano passado sobre Diana Ross e Kevin estarem supostamente trabalhando juntos em um projeto. Cartazes foram vistos em Londres, provocando que algo da dupla lançaria “em breve” antes que o single fosse finalmente anunciado.

A obra faz jus ao nome “Turn Up The Sunshine”  em tradução “Ligue a luz do sol” já que o multi-instrumentista australiano e a icônica cantora norte- americano criam uma dose quente e ensolarada do ritmo funk estadunidense, com influências do soul, do jazz e do blues.

Esse é o primeiro aperitivo do álbum feito para a animação derivada da franquia “Meu Malvado Favorito” que trará várias outras curiosidades, entre elas uma versão de Kali Uchis para o clássico da bossa nova “Desafinado” e Phoebe Brdigers dando o seu toque para “Goodbye To Love”, dos Carpenters. O álbum chega ao mercado em primeiro de julho, um dia depois da estreia do filme nos cinemas brasileiros.

A trilha sonora do longa, conta com diversas estrelas do mundo da música, incluindo covers dos anos 70, como a versão de St. Vincent para “Funkytown” da Lipps Inc. “Instant Karma!”, cover de HER de “Dance to the Music” de Sly and the Family Stone, os próprios Minions tocando “Cecília” de Simon & Garfunkel.

Além de outras participações ilustres de com participações de Brockhampton, Caroline Polachek, Phoebe Bridgers, Kali Uchis, Brittany Howard , Thundercat, entre diversos outros. O grupo desses artistas abordou e regravou lançamentos clássicos de John Lennon, The Carpenters, Nancy Sinatra, Kool & the Gang, Santana e muito mais!
